MESA, Ariz. (Jan. 28, 2019) – This spring and summer, let your children experience  art and science collide during one of the i.d.e.a. Museum’s Wonder Camps. Children ages 6 to 12 can enroll in a week-long program during the spring or summer to engage their brains during school breaks.

For spring, children will experience a hands-on STEAM camp March 11-15 that is focused on how things around us, including robots and instruments, are made. There will be an emphasis on sustainability related to the Junkyard Jungle exhibition.

During the summer camp, July 8 – 12, campers will embark on the wonder of travel and transportation. Registration will begin April 1.

“Camps should be fun, where children can explore and discover the world around them in a way that sparks their curiosity and a desire to learn,” said i.d.e.a. Museum Education Curator Dena Milliron. “We’ve created Wonder Camp with lots of hands-on activities and experiments to engage their imaginations and nurture creative thinking.”

Wonder Camps are run by i.d.e.a. Museum gallery educators. Activities aim to inspiring curiosity through science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) concepts weaved into the day’s activities and games.

The half-day Spring Wonder Camp will run 8:30 a.m. to noon. Cost is $65 for i.d.e.a. Museum members; $80 for nonmembers.

The full-day camp will take place 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children registered for the entire day must bring a packed lunch. Cost is $150 for members; $175 for nonmembers.

More details on summer camp activities are coming soon!
