The i.d.e.a. Museum has partnered with Arizona’s Children Association Family Education & Support Services to offer a series of four free parenting workshops at the museum on Fridays in September. Sessions are open to parents and caregivers of children birth to age 5. Registration is required, and attendance to all four sessions is encouraged.

This series will help parents and caregivers nurture their children with a “just right” combination of freedom and positive discipline. The workshops take place from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the museum’s Atrium Classroom. Please check in at the front desk.

The class is open to the public and includes materials and special gifts for attending. Additionally, free childcare is provided for attendees. Space is limited.

Sessions

The class is called “The First Five Years.” Topics include child development and milestones, positive discipline, and kindergarten readiness. Class is limited to 20 participants.

Learn about:

  • Your child’s development and growing brain
  • Preventing tantrums and other problems
  • Using mindfulness to keep calm
  • Six ways to prepare your child for school success

During the final workshop on Sept. 24, attendees will receive free admission to the museum, located at 150 W. Pepper Place.
